It is the second time in four monthes that my fresh water pressure pump is failing?

Is it a bad batch? is it poorly installed or in the wrong place? is it because of my constant use? (are they designed to work hard?

I use about 600 liters a week?

Shall I replace with an other model or make or just get an other one?

Tom

Those pumps are not a lot of good for constant/liveaboard use. The main problem with them is the micro switch. I have found Flojet to be better, but not sure if they are all the same now. I give you fair warning, do NOT buy the cheaper chinese ones available on E bay, they are junk, with a capital "J". You may need to go to a par max4, but it's the same microswitch. Have a look at Marco pumps, italy. Very sinilar in size, but far superior, been through all of this for the past two years!
I have had six of the par max4's in four years. They are not up to liveaboard use.

Hi
1st thing i would say is that the pump sound's a bit small for your need's,2nd is it not under waranty&3rdly do you have an accumulator fitted as these do save alot of wear&tear on the pump's,regards m m 1.

Your problem is mostly the 4-5 nights I think, most marine pumps (including Parmax 3) are designed and made to Marine Leisure use which is probably 20 nights per year max. and not much more than 600 litres per year.

Google marco pumps. You will always have problems with the Jabsco, flojet type. Unless of course you fit a proper pressure switch and an accumulator, aty least 10 litre one.
