Jabsco Par-Max4 water pump opinions

Generally happy with them. Mine failed because it was mounted vertically and water leaked down into the electrics at the bottom causing corrosion. I mounted the new one horizontally

A different model I know, but I replaced my original Par-Max 2.9 with the replacement Par-Max 3 model. After that, the water supply would pulse. After some advice it was suggested I added an accumulator. I've added a small Jabsco one and it's fixed the problem but it was a bit annoying having to add this when the old pump was fine.

mine appeared to die when I ran it for a long stretch to empty the tank. Bought a spare, when I took the old one of and looked at it found there was a push in button a bit like is found on electric elements- pushed it back in and still going fine 15 yrs on. Given its rather vital for us happy to carry the spare though!
Think they are a good work horse

I fitted a Jabsco Par-Max 2.9 in 2018 which cured the rapid pulsing of the old Par-Mate pump without needing to fit an accumulator.

I’ve got mine off now and can’t see anything that looks like a ‘reset’ button unfortunately. I would like my replacement to be a lot quieter tbh.

In the Par Max user manual is says:-
"Symptom: - Pump will not run
Possible cause:- Thermal protector has cut off
Corrective action:- Allow motor to cool 14-30 min "

so no mention of a manual reset

It’s a while back now - and I have the memory of a goldfish - but the button was in the business end , possibly under a cover? And black and quite small
