I have purchased a 15'6" Yachting World Catamaran which was made from plans of J.R. Macalpine-Downie. Along with the boat came the original article from Yachting World May 1961. In the article it states that plans can be purchsed through Yachting world. My boat needs extensive wood work and some key pieces of the wood have rotted or are missing. Does anyone know how I could go about obtaining a copy of the "Yachting World Catamaran' dsign from this 1961 era? HELP ME! Dan /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have the main hulls, however the origianl owner began taking off the main wood top sheeting. Most of the ribbing is present however the main wood pieces which connect the hulls together are broken, and some pieces of wood between the hulls is just missing hence why I would like the plans.

Just a suggestion...why not speak to a good chippy who is used to working with wooden cats? I remember the old YW cats, and they were prone to de-lamination of the ply on the decks and the bridge deck. There is an excellent carpenter in Brightlingsea who used to build wooden Tornado Cats for Reg White...chap by the name of Bruce Finlayson. He would be a good place to start.
