IWA Manifesto for the Waterways

The IWA are mounting a campaign and have published a "Manifesto for the Waterways" asking parliamentary candidates to sign up in support.

"Support Affordable New Off Line Moorings" ................. Anybody care to explain this to the hard of understanding
aka ... me. ? More houseboat moorings having read the document.

Just had thought, there is a stretch of scruffy riverbank just above Teddington lock on the left which could be used for livaboards, put up some trees to screen off the rather down at heel housing nearbye , put in some power and sewage and..... Hey presto a decent income for local authority.Housing waiting lists reduced....Whats not to like.:)

No, they said affordable... somewhere over East London way maybe....

Mudway springs to mind, and Licencing is only about. .50p down there

Yep, anything east of Hammersmith..... :)

Aha you must mean those trustafarian neer-do-wells barely surviving in that scruffy encampment at Chelsea ! :)
Just had thought, below Windsor there is decent stretch on the left that seems to be totally unoccupied, cannot be beyond the bounds of possibility for some body to find out who owns it,slap a compulsory purchase order on it and shove in few moorings for the down and outs who live round there !

I had the temerity to ring Crown Estates some years ago to ask if we could hold a rally there. I was left in no doubt that "Crown" land is definitely NOT 'Public' land !
