Iveco Aifo engine - water temperature sensor location?

Fellow friends, I take the opportunity to raise an issue that I need help to solve. I have an Iveco Aifo engine, 8141, and wounder if there are anyone out there to help me locate the engine outlet for the water temp sensor? The wire has been cut and I can not find any trace of the outlet near the cable. I had plans to mount an adapter to the cooling hose but was advised not to.

you mean the sender that fits on the coolant circuit? on my AIFOs (different model though) it's at the front of the engine under the coolant expansion tank. Get the workshop manual from the web and have a look as fs above says.

May I ask what boat your AIFO 8140 engine is in. (Basic IVECO Daily Van , pre Turbo) I had one of these (brilliant) engines in a French Boat, I had trouble getting some engine spares, the part I could not find was when I had the Cam Belt changed I wanted to fit new bearings and the one that was on the boat appeared to be the original one and 20 years old as there was red overspray on it from when the engine was originally sprayed. To try and find the right bearing I bought one which was for an Iveco Daily Van, an Iveco Water Pump, and Iveco Generator and non of them were the same.
