ive only gone n done it - ive finally bought a boat!

not new but new to me

so a few years ago - the old man decided to get into boating more than the small assult craft we have.

He bought a 32 fairline sedan, and needless to say it was an eye opener in what was required to maintain, keep and use such a size of boat. BUT i loved the challenge.

Sadly that was cut short by cancer, yet i had promised myself id have another crack at it when finances allowed.

so yesteray ive agreed on my own Bayliner 2655 ciera with trailer.

Ive been reading lots of the pros/cons and looking through the sale pages for months and decided this was where i wanted to start my own boat journey.

Im hoping to finalise transport on monday.
Overall - cosmetically needs some work but the important bits seemed to be solid and correct. and im more than happy to have parts to tinker with to put my own stamp on her.

my plan is to have her on the caledonian canal as its 5/20 minutes away to 2 of the moorings ive asked about.

so i guess now its time to have plenty of fun and try and not let boating bankrupt me

listed as a 1993, but upon checking out models i believe shes a 1994 model with a 5l mercruiser with an electronic ignition system fitted and an alpha 1 leg with a ss prop

yeah finally... lol i'll be happy when shes home and i can start on the bits i wish to sort out and prep... not to mention have the neighbours wonder what on earth ive been doing

I'm having it lorried home. the trailer needs an overhaul before its good to go but factored costs for that already.

Really hoping for a roasting summer for plenty fishing, chilling out and all round floaty fun

Cheers! Yeah the determination was there before but I think I've learnt a lot of things practical, theory and reality wise. So I'm hoping doing things my way with some knowledge will be easier than trying to do things on behalf of someone else thier way when no one really had a clue

I dont know what im more excited about, getting her home or actually getting down to swearing at bolts with a project to play/work on

A lovely sunny week - and i took yesterday off for delivery. No boat arrived.

aparently it wasnt in the notes for delivery on monday but i'm happy enough at this morings effort.

Galt did a superb job of being careful with the cargo so now i have my bayliner sat at the house awaiting trailer parts and a tidy up..

and heres 1 of my smaller boat in the background too

unfortuantely im now back at work, so looking forward to getting some and in about it all
