I\'ve gone and done it!

After 20 years Insurance with Haven Knox-Johnston, I have switched to Craftinsure. They came in 36% cheaper than the renewal requested by H K-J.

I hope I don't live to regret it!

I know the feeling.

I upped my insurance with Craftinsure by about £3000 and they reduced my premium ... something to do with moving into a different band.

The thing is with insurance, is that you have to shop around, so you are unlikely to have value by staying with one company for 20 yeras!! I would imagine that you could have had it cheaper some time ago ago!

I have always found, in business and privately, that when you bring a competitive quote to your existing company they match it rather than lose the business.

You never want to let them rest on their laurels.

Don't knock yourself out running and ringing all over the place, use an Insurance Broker, they will save you a bundle, this applies to any insurance not just your boat.

Use the best bidders quote to get with a reputable insurer for less, or save even more by setting up a package deal to cover your business, house, car, boat, income and plane or whatever else you have.

Try it, brokers costs will represent a very small part of what you can save.

I tried submitting values £50 less and £200 more and they both came out more expensive than the round number (£50,000) quote!

Save 140.00 quid.

Previous insurance was with NGI via a broker.Renewal was 356 pounds with 20% NCB.
Went on-line with craftinsure. Much cheaper quote ie. 216 pounds and quess what,the insurer is..............................NGI.
