... to replace my old Albin. Chalk and cheese. The MF has a 150 Yamaha. The Albin mustered 38 hp.

She's just being kitted out with her electronics and rigged with the engine and then delivered to Neyland in Pembrokeshire.

Looking to be afloat in about 2 weeks so exciting times. Never had a brand new boat!

Congrats on the new boat. It is so exciting to get a boat so new, you can decide and master every project, maintenance etc.

695 and 150 hp provides for a completely different experience than the Albin - enjoy and hold on to hat, teeth and other accessories :)

Looking forward to pics :encouragement:

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

Fortunately I managed to reserve the last stock boat that Cambrian Boats in Swansea had in their yard. I saw two on their website and went down the same day. They sold both on the same afternoon. Cambrian Boats are just delightful to deal with. Absolutely no sales pressure and once reserved, there was no problem waiting whilst I sold my Albin. As it happened, that was achieved within a week.

Even the extra seating and table I have ordered for the cockpit and the cushions and upgraded chartplotter have all been delivered from the factory almost by return so when she goes through the workshop, everything can be fitted.

I am not a fisherman and have no plans to take any with me! My boating is now mainly single handed (as SWMBO has her garden) and I like the Marlin concept. The layout is popular around these parts so I have some eye on resale in the future but for the moment, have plans to explore further than the displacement speed of the Albin would allow in the time I have available.

Pictures to follow soon!

Well done! I used to play around a MF 565 (I think) with a 75HP 4 stroke Honda which although under powered it was a lot of fun and wakeboarding behind it was great as the wash was big :-)

Looks great and bet you can't wait until she's in the water. Enjoy and some more pictures at the launch needed
