I\'ve been refused insurance!! Cheeky b*stards.
So, the new boat became mine on saturday, well, I handed over the last payment, apparently legal title becomes mine when wee have sorted out the british registry document, all of which is in the post.
I called the insurance company I had the Huntress insured (Coleman Marine) with and no trouble at all they gave me a quote, I also called the company that the Huntsman is insired with by the geezer I bought her off (Admiral) and they declined to quote cos of the value of such an old wooden boat and cos I would be a new customer to them. Cheeky Bastards. They suggested that I try GJW who should be foning me back as I type this.
For reference, 28 foot, wood, 1969, does 30 knots, insured for £30k, cruising area South Coast, English Channel and channel islands, quote from Coleman was £350.
Who else should I try? Is £350 reasonable?
