It\'s warming up! When are you launching?

Looks like the temperature may hit 7 or 8 degrees C tomorrow and I should be able to get a coat of antifouling on! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Why is it the 'to do' list is getting longer and not shorter? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Fortunately most of the 'ashore' work is done now, so I can get afloat and maybe do the rest when off sailing. Haven't had a sail since mid November!

Planning to launch Sat 28 Mar. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What is "launching"? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif- no need when you never lift out! GG has been in the water all winter and used at least monthly - some great days on the water. You just need to wrap up warm!
The Solent can't be that much warmer than the East coast, can it? - we had ice flowing down the Medina when waking outside the Folly Inn in December and the water temperature has been around 4 or 5 degrees recently.
My pic shows us out on 6th December - lovely sunny day and light (too light!) winds

Hopefully Cervinia will be back in the water last week in March. Then its across the Blackwater to Bradwell Marina.
After that who knows, we dont........

Re: It\'s warming up! When are you launching?

What with the cold winter, and my Raynaud's playing up, I'm going off this winter sailing, though we're still in the water. I've varnished the tiller, however, so that's almost all the fitting-out done and I can relax.

Re: It\'s warming up! When are you launching?

Mine should be going back in around mid march. However, I discovered yesterday that the boatyard had 'lost' the work order to repair my rudder, so I'm a little pessimistic. Noah wasn't Dutch!

Re: It\'s warming up! When are you launching?

Anybody's guess. I have been trying to get quotes for getting Jessie's bottom scraped. Since she has been out of water for nearly eighteen months there is a good opportunity to apply some epoxy before re antifouling but on the other hand the areas where the current antifoul is actually peeling are limited. My own lack of experience ( not sure I trust myself to do the work properly) is leading to indecision, which may translate into further delay in getting anything done. But in principle my mooring will be available in April and I hope to start exploring the Crouch and Roach before May.

Re: It\'s warming up! When are you launching?

Hopefully coming out in April for the summer with maybe a quick dunk for burnham week. Signed up for some RORC stuff this summer so with every other weekend sailing between May and August Grayling will be on the hard drying out poor old girl.

However just to assure all Bradwell people who will see her as they head out for the weekends over the summer, she will not become one of the unloved yard ornaments, honest, she will just be resting. Give her a pat a reassure her it will all be ok. (yes I do feel sort of guilty... weird)
