Yes. I particularly like the engine, too.
Me too, but God forbid I ever own one - far too much work, not to mention all those moving bits waiting to grab a careless finger or a whole hand!

It reminded me of when I was five or so, on holiday with my parents in Scotland. We took a ride on a paddle steamer and I spent most of the trip on a kind of balcony overlooking the engine room, watching that humungous crank going round. Our next trip was on a more modern boat, the Balmoral, maybe, and there were no visible moving parts. I was seriously disappointed.

The engine reminds me of a much smaller version of the old Woolwich Ferry back in the early 1960's. You could go below and see it working, absolutely fascinating for a young boy as I was then.
