Government press release over night Coronavirus – Guidance on access to green spaces

The list of activities allowed from today includes:
"all forms of water sports practiced on open waterways, including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, rowing, kayaking, surfing, paddle-boarding and the use of privately-owned motorised craft (in line with the guidance issued by the relevant navigation authority) are allowed. You can continue to use towpaths for walking, running and cycling, being mindful of other users and people living in boats along the water"

It will be interesting to see how many of the dithering Harbour Masters and Marina Operators catch up.

Hamble very quickly said they were open yesterday.
I think we have the go ahead for navigation but individual authorities may be worried about not having risk assessed their facilities, fine just go for a sail and not use them, plenty of anchorages.

QHM Portsmouth basically said go ahead if you can access the boat in a socially distanced way.

Just wait until the weekend when the breaches and national parks are flooded with tourists, a few boats on lake Solent will pale into insignificance
Already happening in my locality, influx of visitors, tastefully decorating beauty spots with disgarded coloured bags of dog shite, which never happened during lockdown.
Can we have it back please.

Can "we" have "what" back? You live in a nice place (I assume) and think you own it? Do people who live next to power plants think they own the electricity to which you have the same access as they do? Parochial thinking, if thinking is the right word. Maybe selfish self-interest would be a more appropriate descriptor.

Dog shite is still dog shite.

If visitors treated they area they are visiting as the kind of place they would like to live in, things may be better. Instead, we're left with loads of polystyrene chip cartons, ice cream wrappers and other such rubbish littering places because they can't be bothered using the bins provided. Dog shit bags left hanging on bushes and fences. Maybe an indication of mentality where they come from.
