It's 'elf 'n' safety mate!

In Plymouth we are politely, but family, ordered to move away by men in black carrying loaded guns.

I was impressed with the beer, Colchester No 1, and the warm welcome at the sailing club in Brightlingsea a few weeks ago.

We had similar problems while cycling in Sicily. Obviously things are getting out of hand....

If we are honest about it, bringing a ship over 100 m long into a creek there is less than 65 m wide where it can only be swung in exactly one place and doing that without tugs is simply waiting for an accident I witnessed a close call when the line put ashore to swing the bow broke and the ship was suddenly in the wrong place with the tide pushing it towards my mooring. On another occasion the ship was so close to the pontoon where my boat was moored that the prop wash would have washed anyone ofc their feet.

Do remember the entire atea is. RAMSAR site, EPA, SSSI, where a MARPOL incident would be a serious issue.
