It\'s coming out!!

Sorry to keep picking all your brains, but thats what you get for knowing so much! Following previous post re the bloody hydraulics, the general opinion was that the ram was siezed. With this in mind, I ventured down 7am on Saturday morning whilst the tide was low enough for me to stand in the water to see if I could at least get the engine in the water, release screw showed no fluid, motor is running but doing nothing, ram is solid! I'm hoping to get it out of water either tomorrow or Friday. Plan is to take it apart to release ram, any tips? Once I release the ram, do I just replace fluid and reassemble? Anything else I should do? As always, all advice gratefully recieved.

Note to Duncan.. success or not, I'll still get it out there somehow on Saturday!

Don't understand "put fluid in the leg". Apparently the motor incorporates a fluid well, if that helps!

Err if the ram is really seized (and you won't really know until you have got it off) then either the seals have gone or maybe water etc in it = ? rust.
I reckon you may need to get it rebuilt rather than just whck it once to get it going.
? suggest your frindly local non-marine hydraulic expert JCB type stuff
