Boats which have been laid up for the winter seem to ceate more worries than when they are sailing.With this wind I start imagineing the worst case scenarios.......is Emsworth still there?

I am so pleased that my little boat (ashore @ Southsea Marina sheltered by the blocks of flats) has a big RIB on either side of her. At least if she does get blown off her blocks she will have a soft landing!

Better to leave them parked up in the marina for we liveaboards to keep an eye on 'em...

Mine went back in on Friday - so pleased as my berth is sheltered to the SW gales, unlike the boatyard. Also nice and relatively warm in the water should there be another cold snap.

Seriously though, if you have a boat there you are worried about, I'm popping down tonight on my way home to check lines and fenders etc. I'm more than happy to check anything for you too.

When we had a huge November gale a couple of years ago, four boats were damaged in the boatyard.
None of the boats still afloat were damaged.
