With a break in the weather today and an itch to get back on the water ASAP, I finally did the annual hull compound & polish that i've been putting off for so long.

Anti-foul is the next step, and finally i'll wax the hull.

Here's what 6 hours of torture produces:

Wow, congrats for both an outstanding job and what looks like a very straight hull.
You'd never believe how many gpr moulded boats (also from reputable builders) would reflect very distorted images, when seen from such angle.

And here's how an engine bay SHOULD look after a service - I don't believe in mess! Half hour before these pics were taken there was oil, filters, belts, belt dust (everywhere) - a little work goes a long way

Wow! That is one clean engine bay! What do you use on it to get it that clean? Mine always still looks a little grimy no matter how much elbow grease I put into it.

Fairy washing up liquid and scouring pad did the job just fine.

The trick is to clean it every so often so the dirt doesn't get a chance to bake in.

I used quite a bit of water but made sure to suck it all out after, down to every last drop using an oil extractor. Then dry off the drops and leave engine bay open for the day to air out.

Nice job mate. We finished Spring cleaning the exterior of ours last Saturday ad i thought i'd better take some pics, especially as i'd made a few changes since i bought the boat. The engine was serviced last October, by myself and here's a pic of it :

OK so here's the final result, after compound, polish & wax. All topped off with a fresh coat of anti-foul (Done before the wax)

Nice and shiny now, ready to go back in the water tomorrow for a test run before the weekend :hyper

Its the OH and he managed to get stuck!!!!

We where prepping the hull for antifoul and he shouted he was stuck, we didnt believe him so left him half an hour before finding he really was stuck. He had slid down past the raw water strainer and could get back past it with it being tapered. We had to pull him out feet first.

Still he managed to clean behind the engine and under the engine, so alls well.............
