With July and our Thames sojurn fast approaching, doing a bit of passage planning. Tides are of course totally wrong for our purposes with the prospect of some unearthly departure time in the early hours, even if journey is broken with an overnight stop at Queenborough.
Tides are rather weedy so Hammersmith should not cause any delays.
Civilised option seems to be a departure in late morning, catch the evening flood arriving at Richmond just as the barrier lifts about 21.30.BST.
30 mins should see us to Teddington.
Only caveat would be finding room for three or four boats at that time of night on the moorings.
Any comments.
Other club boats will be arriving prior to this but the majority a day or two later.

Can you book the mooring space at Teddington? Most EA locks will oblige, but not sure about Tedders.
You used to be able to book mooring space just below the lock too, but when we tried at Easter we found the chap who runs it wasn't well - maybe he's fit again now?

What day are you arriving? I can't see it being a problem unless it's a Saturday night to be honest.

New signs at the lock say '24hrs only', which is a new one on me, considering the amount of boats that stay their during the drain off. The front moorings are on permanent reserve for that big barge(Venturer), so I reckon it's possible to book.
The bank just beyond the lock that was full of pikey boats has been cleared and overnight NBs are taking advantage, so a couple of you might get in there.
There was signage from the council warning not to moor, but the signs have mysteriously dissapeared. Nothing to do with the slum boat I'm sure:rolleyes:

If you mean the boatshed chandlery moorings across the tail weir stream, then the chap that runs them is ok now but handed over the business to his son who you may recognise as a former lockie at Teddington, the curly blonde one. You can book the lock head lay by moorings by calling the lock office.

...most probably arriving Friday...if the weather is OK...we normally about turn at Sonning before making a early morning exit via Teddington.
Do hope all the locks are manned and every thing spruced up and painted ready for inspection.
Am looking forward to everyone else doing the work and passing the time getting worked up about the lack of tree cutting, the lack of dredging, narrowboats, commercial craft, rowers, hire craft, bits of metal sticking out of bridges, mooring charges, scruffy livaboards, regattas leaving only a narrow 10M strip down the watercourse and the outrageous £15.00 per week for the river license, ....err have I missed anything. ? :):)

I'll see of I can arrange a tsunami of wash from a late night unlicensed speed boat, or perhaps a welcoming committee of EU poachers with sea rods on your chosen mooring. Please let me know your whereabouts. We non tidal Thames boaters,(aka the privelaged few with a cheery wave)always aim to please.:D

Don't forget to pack the For Sale banner.....positioned correctly it will give you more than 8knots,save you fuel......and as you well know we are all minted up this way, chuck 20% on the asking price and you may well get a bite.....plus we can all see you coming.....Everyone's a winner :):)

The banner is already in place...arranging the rest may take a little longer.
Have already stocked up cheap corner shop lagar and some oversized St George flags. (you know the 8th century Anatolian bloke who never set foot in the UK) .
We should fit in nicely. :):):)
