Italian Riviera Report. (Long, lots of pix, broadband needed)

Wow what a lovely insight and so beautifully told

Dear Jfm,

Thank you so much for sharing such an Adventure :). It sounds like you had a lovely trip even with the little Hurdles that presented themselves. The Italian Riviera looks stunning and Elba certainly a place to visit. It is such valuable information and described in this way makes for a lovely read.

Your photo's are great but the experience I'm sure was way beyond the images Beauty. Your mention and photo of what to expect in Sardinia looks and sounds amazing, dream anchorages no doubt.

Thank you for sharing.

superb world class post! passed that way a couple of years back and it brought back many memories. We also liked Genoa - got stuck in there for 3 or 4 days and although a bit smelly - we found plenty to see and do.
Portoferrairo definitley the highlight though - we were moored in what looks like the exact same spot - outstanding.

had me going as well, until I saw the stern on night pic with "Braveheart" on the transom.

Me too but then it started to dawn on me that there was no mention of stabilizers in the post:)

It has been mentioned before but considering the amount of work needed, and the information offered, to make a post like this would it not better to group these kind of posts in one place? Waterbird found this one and if not for her I would never have seen it. And I am not the only one.

Makes me jealious, sorry:(

Such lovely, images, i hope one day i can be in a better finacial situation were i could do the same, and show my two children that life is not about murders, shooting, people blowing them selfs up and getting high on drugs.

This wonderfull world can show us so much if only we take our time to explore it.

If you need any one to polish & shine your shinny bits on your next passge:D:cool: im your man.

Agreed. A separate forum for cruise reports, both mobo and yottie, would make a good reference resource for other forumites

Interesting point. Actually Waterbird didn't find it. she asked for info on med cruises in another thread, and I replied giving a link to this thread, then she replied to this thread thus bringing it back to the top again

But you are right. It would be good if an easy-to-use ctalogue of cruise reports could be kept on this forum. I'm not in favour of a separate forum becuase lots of people do not have time to surf multiple forums and salami slicing therefore is not a great way to organise things. But if the forum admin could think of a way to link to a page that just has shortcuts to these reports, with recognisable names on the links like on waterbird's thread, that would be a useful resource. Meantime, waterbird's thread acts partly as that catalogue so bookmark it! But it isn't complete because there have been perhaps 50-75 very good illustrated cruise reports on here in the last 5 years or so and they are not all captured in the that thread

A quick way to do it would be for the mods to make a sticky thread in which just links to cruise reports are posted, with no or minimal chat. The link sentence can state the year and area of cruise, simple. I'm not hugely in favour of stickies (especially the current ones which are just clogging up space) but this could actually be a useful sticky. Any future cruise reports could have their own threads but also a link in the sticky

fully agree,
I'm member on a few other fora, and avoid these just because they have sliced the posts in many different categories,
thats so good in this forum here, all mobo stuff on one page,
I hope they keep it like that.

as your sugestion,
we could encourage or asc mates, to post links in the waterbird thread, bookmark it and continue to use that as the catalog

for that reason, I have added a few comprehensive titles to the links I have posted there.

Wow its so nice to see some interest :-)

Hi Guys and Girls,

I have just had a little read and catch up. Been so busy here working on getting a few Tracks ready for Mastering. I don't know why any piece of Art I do, I'm never fully satisfied :) .

I totally agree with what I have been reading, having a File of Cruise reports would be so Useful. If my little Thread ' Your Ultimate Med Cruise' works as a storage place then brilliant. If it helps others then wonderful :) Your reports are so very inspiring. Jfm gave me the link to this one and revived it, I am so glad he did :)

One day I dream of being able to be aboard with my Easel and paints during the day creating an impression of those gorgeous Back drops and then on to my Keyboards in the Evening. With Back drops like that who wouldn't be inspired :)

Dear Mark

You are so right, poor kids these days, they don't know where they are at. Society needs to change, the government needs to get a real grip and start addressing the needs of the young. Here in France the kids are so different, their perspectives too, what has gone so wrong with Blighty? It must be so hard for young parents Now Days.

Who knows you could be Cruising the Med with them one day :) what a goal ! When little we would spend days in the Countryside, I would sooner spend time in Nature than do anything else to be honest. The Natural world does wonders.

The Sea's and Water ways are great Healing places, sometimes I lay at night with the Window open after a Heavy bout of Rain just to hear the River water flow over the rocks :) I hope you manage to fulfil your dream of bringing a little enlightenment to your kids lives. The treasures of Earth, away from the not so nice aspects of our World are there. Its just affording to get there :(

Even if my boat ends up being an Old Tub with an old Sheet as a Sail, the dream will be fulfilled lol.

Jfm, Bart, TheFatLady, Hurricane and all you others have been fantastic, keep the reports coming in as so wonderful to read. The Med is gorgeous, the Natural world is gorgeous, I just hope we can all work to preserve it, so generations to come will share and appreciate the Beauty before them.

Thanks again Guys

Tara
