...if you tie a bow in your shoelaces using the reef knot principle, they NEVER come undone (until you want them to). I used to do right over left, and pull, make a loop in left, once round and pull through. However, if you make a loop in RIGHT, once round and pull through, it ties up like a reef knot and performs exactly the way a reef knot performs in relation to a granny knot.
Yet another way that sailing skills can improve your everyday life!
