Can't match Derekh and Sailbad but here's a little effort written when cleaning the boat today.

Scattery Island

Cutting out of the lock,
facing into a short grey sea,
buffeted to and fro,
Scattery seen not easily,

Still we battled on,
although spray and water thrown,
our destination approaching slowly,
through the Atlantic storm.

The heave of the sea, the lash of the storm,
making us feel very small,
Kilrush behind, now no longer seen,
would we make it safe at all?

At last the lee of Scattery,
easing the wind and sea,
the pier was coming up,
we would home in time for tea.

(I don't think I'm any good for this poetry lark ! )

Yep, I know you're right, Tony. It must have been the combination of Bacardi and all that cleaning and polishing GRP.

I won't do it again !
