which why I have time to sit 500 miles from home in a crouching headroom boat without a table making up web pages

the Solent films - so far viewed around 100,000 times have been turned into two zip files that can be downloaded for freemans and home burned onto a DVD

for the technically challenged there is a page on a website that will tell you how to achieve turning a zip file lifted from a website into images on your old telly

What are you worried about man? It is soft summer rain ( warm and falling vertically). It is when you meet hard winter rain (0.001'C and falling horizontally) that you really need to worry.

I am looking afresh at motorsailers -

the light would still be as dull as ditchwater but at least the camera and the boat driver would stay dry

D

PS - has anyone started downloading those files - I am curious about download speeds

I have tried to discourage hydrophobic southerners from venturing north many times but various disingenuous posters, including yourself, Dylan, keep posting pictures of idyllic anchorages, heather covered hills, pristine waters, and waxing lyrical on the joys to be sampled up here. Stay in the south where you won't have to suffer the incessant rain, gales, midges, clegs, lack of basic amenities like fully serviced pontoons within range of a fully stocked Waitrose - the natives are even so unfriendly as not to raft up or anchor close to other boats (well, not very often).

Dylan is one of your own - believe him - he is unbiased.

He that goes to Scotland and is not bathed frequently in soft summer showers is a liar. ( or inside)

Actually, Dylan is just a stone's throw away from Leuchars which is often measured as the sunniest place in the UK, in terms of sunshine hours per annum. The rain must just follow him around.

Dylan,
I grew up in Scotland and can remember rain and what you have there looks like mere drizzle to me. Mum used to walk us up Windy Hill in far worse during the summer hols.
Just get out and enjoy it :)

Dylan, rather than pictures of the rain, why not cheer us all up with pictures of the beautiful Holman & Pye Bowman 47 that lies against the sea wall, presuming that she's there. A pretty boat. The cogs are whirring trying to recall her name but I can't quite get it..

Ooo, yes please - my dreamboat........
