The admiral bought one of these kits to fit to our cool box, simple enough to fit but I’m not sure if there is a particular orientation that the plate should be fitted to the sides as the easiest exit for the pipework to compressor is through the bottom of the cool box and the neatest orientation would be for the hose/plate attachment point to be at the bottom of the plate as in the photo.

Exiting thru the back or sides is going to be a problem due to restrictive access or simply no space.

There are no markings on the plate or in the manual to guide us on this.

I’ll be fitting one these kits. I’ll have to bend my coolplate to get it down through top entry lid.
My thoughts were to mount the cool plate as high as possible as cold air is more dense than warm and, in theory, should fall to the bottom of the coolbox.
I have read about people who have fitted computer fans in their coolbox to circulate the air and get an even temperature.
I can’t see mounting the plate horizontally at the bottom being very efficient at all. Anything sitting on it will most likely freeze and everything towards the top won’t get chilled.

Thanks for the reply, but I’m fitting it on the side as high as possible, it’s just if the pipes can be at the bottom rather than the top.

Not going to make a difference. Put the pipes in some plastic tube for protection, something like some toilet overflow pipe, for instance.
