Fan turns for a few seconds and compressor gives a judder and eventually green light on and yellow and red flash,
Batteries are in good order and have checked all connections, with engine running I have 13.8v at the power block on the unit which drops to about 13.5 as compressor tries to start.
Fan runs fine when connected to battery directly and I have tried a new battery beside the compressor unit and connected directly to the power block but still the same results.
Scratching head and thanks in advance.

AHH
I finally found this, http://www.ybw.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-244194.html
So it looks like it is the smart controller (the red connection block) or the black box which is the DC to AC converter.

Thanks for looking.
Salty.
