Isles of Scilly - 2025 Summer cruise

We did almost that exact run in our Sealine T51 back in August 2005.
Hamble
Torquay
Falmouth
St Mary's - Isle of Scilly
Brixham
Hamble

En route - Eddystone Lighthouse and Wolf Rock
IIRC, fuel was in Falmouth on the way out and Brixham on the way back.

We picked up a buoy in St Mary's and use the tender to go over to places like Tresco.
I wasn't that confident with my navigation in those days so my moto was "on the charts - keep to the blue bits"
We had excellent weather but whilst in the Scillies it wasn't looking good for a few days later so we came home.
I remember on the way back at night between Scillies and Cornwall, the night skies were clear and virtually no light pollution - fantastic night sky.
That experience made me feel so small.

Glad we did it.
Brilliant, thank you. Sounds perfect! @rafiki_ also has warned me ref the weather after this most recent excursion to those Isles. I'm very much a fair weather / risk averse boater, so this would only be doable for me in a good weather window.

But that said nothing Ive learned so far has put me off!

We've sailed our old Ovni there several times from Poole. Admittedly that had a lifting keel so we spent most of the time dried out on the beaches, but it's an amazing place to explore!

The moorings at St Mary's can often be super rolly, personally we always avoided them. We had better luck with the moorings at Porth Cressa, but very much depends on the wind and in Scilly you always have to be prepared to move at short notice, or prepared to accept lots of rocking and rolling. Make sure you have good mooring lines, and good ground tackle if you plan to anchor.

Generally we always parked on the beach at Green Bay on Bryher, but there's quite a few moorings between Tresco and Bryher as well that we preferred compared to St Mary's, and give you great access to both of those lovely islands.

Depending on how much you want to move the boat around after arrival, if you can well worth visiting the outer islands St Agnes, St Martins, Bryher and Tresco. Amazing animal/bird life over in the Eastern Isles of Great Ganilly/Menawethan/etc. too. Plenty of local boats doing trips if you don't fancy moving and anchoring in some of those places. If you do try some of them, obviously be very watchful of depths - plenty of shallow patches and rocks moving between the islands!

One of my favourite places to visit, so if you can get there definitely try it. If the weather isn't good enough when you go then exploring the West Country with the likes of Penzance/Helford/Falmouth/Fowey/Plymouth/Noss Mayo/Dartmouth/Salcombe/etc. is still wonderful.

Diesel fuel easily available alongside in Dartmouth, Salcombe, Plymouth, Fowey, Falmouth (and by arrangement at Newlyn I believe), and at St Mary's too.
