It was my first time to the Isle of Man... I loved it and can't wait to go again!

Very impressed also with the Fairline 42. Not my first delivery of a Fairline, but it is always a pleasure. Fast, comfy and relatively economical. The Lizard and Lands End were a bit bumpy, but from Neyland to Peel was like a mill pond.

As you'd expect, I took the camera along (so here's the film):

I hope you enjoy it.

Pete

Peel is the nicest marina....although we only have 2 :):):)

You get more flat days in the Irish Sea than you might imagine. Glad the trip went well

Certainly could. I was surprised though. There’s a long long long waiting list for pontoon berths over here. Made worse by silting that no one can get on top of. I’m down to 0.5m under the props once tide is below sill level. Must have had a boat previously on a pontoon

Last time I was in Peel the pontoons nearest the pedestrian gate had no more than a foot at "low tide". I draw 1.3m and I was aground halfway along the main walkway until a hole developed for my keel. Lovely place, but by golly it needed dredged.

It’s a big issue in both marinas. Part of Douglas has been done. Peel has been tried but it builds up again so fast!

Port St Mary is 24 hour access. You can go on the wall or a swing mooring. Quite active with fishing boats on the wall.

The nicest spot IMHO is Derbyhaven (by the airport) Good protection in all but North Easterlies. There is a 12 ton mooring buoy there all year round, minimum depth 3m LAT if I remember. Had a few overnights there and it was lovely. Airport shuts at 9ish. Gotta love the IOM :)
