Today the Isle of Grain power station boiler houses were demolished. Later this year the 244m chimney is going to be demolished, so the Medway will become less easy to spot.

Certainly a Big Bang and a massive cloud of dust. I was just locking up our club hut when it went bang. The thick brown cloud appeared to be blowing straight across the Medway to Sheerness. There still seems to be one part of the building left. It will be a shame when the chimney goes. It does give something to "aim for" heading down the Essex coast or across the estuary from North Foreland.
