Is your crew properly knitted out?

And if you want a brand name on your sailing shorts, Helly Hansen do workwear. For a huge amount less than their sailing wear. Available from many online outlets. I live in the stuff.

Proper PBO attire -

Army surplus greatcoat, wellingtons, a couple of pullovers your mum knitted, and that Harris tweed flat cap you inherited from your uncle (substitute a sou-wester in extremis).

In fair weather, trousers and shirt that have progressed through the Sunday best and work phases of their life, but not yet been relegated to boat painting/maintenace, plus tie and aforementioned flat cap.

Guaranteed to take you down without time to even shout for help😂

It's much easier for women sailors. They only need bikinis, it seems from YouTube.
According to legend, and the lady herself, one of the leading crews in the Yarmouth XOD fleet used to wear just a red bikini whenever the weather permitted, for the purposes of distracting the opposition. This in the days when gentlemen sailed their boats in a reefer jacket. That was X110, Betox. My wife made the mistake of looking up that name on the internet, and the top hit was urban dictionary. Some things cannot be unseen, even when face to face with the dear lady herself, aged mid 80s.

Ah well as you know I was in Yarmouth before you . Quite the boatyard distraction those legs were😄

One of our life models is a boat owner and from what I have heard the question of uniform often doesn’t arise in his case.

This is more like what I was expecting on a thread actually titled...
