I think it has a kind of solid, strong look about her. Not sleek I grant you, but not ugly surely. Plus three cabins in a 35' boat...

I dont think that its too bad looking - I have seen lots worse to me its the accomodation that counts as well as looks - and would look closly at the layout and size of 3 cabins - for instance - the Galleon 44 fly has three full cabins - and I was pretty impressed with the photos but saw one at the boat show and realised that the cabin size was compromised - as well as the MFI look and feel as well ......

No it doesn't look 'that bad' to me either, just different. Problem for me with cats is that marinas here aren't really geared up for them and the rate cards show you end up being charged 50%+ extra for the privilege of berthing. This clearly dents the savings made on fuel, possibly considerably!

Jez,

I actully like these. Not sleek and sexy but practical and roomy. The only issue is that the cabins all tend to be on the narrow side and no Island bed!

At the right price with a mooring I would consider one...but I doubt SWMBO would, mind you I am sure she could be persuaded.

Cheers

I suppose it's all relative and personal. Against a modern planning hull motorboat yes it's ugly and as said, the extra cost a marina will charge for the beam far outweighs the anual fuel saving. There aren't many 10 mtr berths with a beam of 13.5' so you'll probably end up paying for a 14 mtr berth just so you can get in.

Jez,

Thats more like it! I can imagine me and SWMBO getting cosy in that. So can I get it on a 15 year mortgage for £600 a month? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

...I thought not /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Nice to dream.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

OK, I am an enthusiastic fan of catamarans, both power and sail, and I personally think that this F-P cat looks a damn sight more attractive than your BMB mobo.
But that is just my own opinion, and I know that others will vehemently disagree!

To all of you who are so keen to shoot cats down in flames, may I commend to you to take one out on a sea trial sometime, and compare it against an equivalent sized monohull, preferably in some rough lumpy conditions. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, by both displacement and planing power cats.

You would say that! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Agree though! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yes, i would agree with there being a lot of room inside! i know the chap who has one of these in torquay, just one problem! he has to pay for two berths now! not such a saving!

FWIW - I LIKE it. As you clearly didn't notice.

Is there any reason that the prow on cats are so upright ? They could be made to look sleeker but then I don`t understand marine engineering
