Re: serious and chatty MoBo forums

I was never in favour in the past. Now though, there are enough newcomers asking FAQ questions that I believe it's a workable option.

Split forums now get my vote

Re: Panto.........

Perhaps you could base it on Happy Days? Just a thought(now creeping quietly into bunker)

FAQs are a good idea, but I think maybe in the absence of an FAQ we could ask that folk spend a couple of hours trawling the archives(better still read the lot!), then come back to us with more specific Questions, it might ease some fevered brows......

cheers,
david

agree with you,

tried to get the old days back a few months ago. gave up. instead of people thinking about what they posted, it turned into a have a go at *&^&* thread.

You now have the old hands gone and the new blood forming their own inner core.

Nothing wrong with that, but I miss the old hands.

Re: dateslip

Now we've got last threaded post on top, Before we had last post on top, anyway things went down to the bottom. I'm not explaining this very well, Put you can alter it.

Re: dateslip

In the words of His Honour, Judge Kim:

"If on, when new replies are made to a thread, the thread will be move to the top of the postlist. If off, threads will stay in their original position:"

I think I preferred Haydn's explanation!

Whadyamean?

I've got nothing against you at all Haydn...it's your posts that I (occasionally) have a problem with /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Speaking of which, did you really have to use that language in last one....? Or in the subject line for that matter. Thanks to you everyone that visits the ybw.com homepage thinks that it is....well, never mind.

Re: Whadyamean?

Well spoted Kim.

But it wasn't quite as bad as a few weeks ago, when MedDreamers...

'Where should I stick my Muffler'

post had its last three letters cut off on the ybw home page /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

(No wind-up, the following thread actually coments on the event!).

Re: Whadyamean?

Hm, mildly upsetting I suppose, though my favourite abbreviation recently has been Martyn MedDreamer's "Where should I stick my mufflers" post, which unfortunately lost its last four letters when placed on the YBW home page.

Happened during SBS, I think, so you may have missed it.

I can't help feeling there's a competition in here somewhere, struggling to get out. Something on the lines of composing an innocuous subject header that is transformed into unspeakable filth when it gets truncated on the home page.

I sense a posting about cumulo-nimbus clouds coming on.............(Only kidding)

:o)

Sorry James. (Not sure we didn't do that once before as well!)

Re: Whadyamean?

Hmm. Forgot about the Home page. Never go there myself.
Anyway. You should be happy /forums/images/icons/smile.gif I've quadruppled your post rate overnight. The advertisers must be very /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Do I get a cut please??

Anyway every one seems very happy now. So thats the main thing.

Re: Whadyamean?

What an inspiration your post has been.

It might even get into triple figures. Will the system cope. Will it deserve a new variant Burgee?

Amazing all the 'old timers' who've craweled out of the woo.. sorry grp moulding.

Don't get too upset when it falls flat over the weekend. Remember the likes of Robbie Williams when the pressure to perform at top level every day takes its toll.

Re: Whadyamean?

Ah, but thats the whole point. It wont go flat at weekend, will it. Cos while I'm having a welll eared rest. You lot are all going to be composing epic stories. I think Kev took it a bit to much to heart. Smashing his boat up on the rocks for the sake of good reading matter is a bit much!!
