Very much doubt it. At least in theory, we prefer to rehabilitate our former criminals once they've served their time, not prevent them functioning in society forevermore.
You can find out via the Criminal Records Bureau checking system. In theory it's only meant to be used when considering someone for a job working with children or "vulnerable" people (eg mental health problems), and should only return information that's relevant to that (ie sexual offences, fraud in a position of trust, etc, not a caution for minor shoplifting 30 years ago). In practice, the police will send back absolutely anything they may have, and I hear that CRBs are increasingly requested where the relevant legislation doesn't actually allow them.
