Is the Tip of the Day Wrong.

Tip of the Day, Applying 2 Pack Paint suggests that you "Start from the right if Right Handed" To me (who has hand painted over 100 Vans with a brush) this seems wrong. I always start from the left, holding the brush or roller in my right hand, as I paint, what I have painted is revealed in front of me. If you have brush or roller marks it is immediatly apparent and you can reverse. But starting on the Right and moving to the left you are looking at what you are going to paint whereas I prefer to be looking at what I have just painted (for imperfections etc).

Entirely agree. Actually I'm ambidextrous so it doesn't really matter, but starting right handed I'd go left to right. I think it's a matter of whether you're pulling or pushing the brush/roller. Pulling must be best!

Properly you should lay it on horizontally and finish off vertically. This ensures surface imperfections are coated.
You're quite right to want to see the applied coating rather than the prepared surface.
Don't know who they've been asking for their info.

Agree with that. However, I'm righthanded and always brush antifoul from right to left - think this is something to do with trying to keep what's left of my hair away from wet antifoul.

Ah but...

The instructions make no mention about whether you should stand on your head to paint, or stand on your feet. If you stand on your head everything is backward or even upside down

If you start from the right then your No 2 person, who is tipping off the paint, gets to work on the most recently applied paint as he can stand closer to you.

Would help if #2 was left handed - he can get even closer!

Seriously though, surely it is down to the painter to decide which is more comfortable - important when doing large areas - and how they ensure a good finish.
