Now the evenings are getting darker and colder, are people putting away their boats or hanging on until October?

I am looking forward to being able to go through Chi harbour without dodging all the the racing sail boats.

Not a mobo/raggie row, just that I am looking foward to a bit of peace :D

Season is never over. Had a great days boating on New Years day this year.

However, this year I am heading for the hard, if only to preserve my newly applied anti foul.

If feel the need to put to sea, my RIB will suffice along with several layers of clothing and a big wooly hat.

Winters - when you get the best weather... if you like the cold. Seriously, we've spent a fair few times in Newtown Cr the only boat there and a flat calm Solent...

Including New Years, only boat in the place...

All good if you've got the right boat or the right clothes!

Hense I recommend that all other boats retire to the hard ASAP.

The season is never over! Some of the best boating is in the winter: little traffic, often calm seas and easy to find a berth. Coming out for a scrub/anodes/outdrive service in November but back in use before Xmas

I wont be putting mine away, that's for sure.

I remember breaking through the ice to get into the lock at Chichester. Deep winter on my old boat, I don't think I saw any other boats all day apart from the fishermen.

Agree with what others say.
Some of the best days are in winter.....no crowds.......not so many raggis tacking in front of you.......and not dissappointed if the weather a bit iffy.

All you need is a good heating system
