Suppose it depends where you are going to use it .. Be Ok on a river with lots of trees etc .. You would catch what wind there was .. SWMBO asked id you washed it on to high a temperature .. You could of course shorten the mast .. Bit drastic that .. Certainly ours does not look like that .. Could also be an April Fool .. When WAS the picture taken .. In the distant future .. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
we were delivered a mainsail like that earlier in the year from a well known sail maker. it only covered 2/3rds of the boom. It was loose foot so when you put some shape in the sail by letting the outhaul out it only covered half the boom length.
