quick Q

I know that:

Victron
MasterVolt
Stirling
Waeco/Dometic

are acceptable brands for an inverter

now between these and the various no-name (OK, named but no name...) Chinese how do Marinco fair?
should I get one I saw on my favourite store (Coastal Rides) or not?
answer please on suitability of Marinco and not of CR!

cheers

Hi Vas,

as you know I would alway's stick to Victron,
and as a second option MasterVolt,

there are others in the same league, but much more expensive and less known fe Studer
all others are B- quality; good enough for occasional, non essential use.

our experience with US products:
sometimes these are converted 120V models, and not alway's good reliability at 230V
our experience with Chines products:
as soon as you have "complex loads" , or unexpected peak currents they are not reliable, and can break easyly

this is my subjective opinion, based on some experiences,
ofcause it depends on the useage, and the model.

thanks Bart,

following our PM/email discussion, I'm keeping clear of this and will be buying a Victron MultiPlus 24|1600 once I have an idea on when they'll let us use our boats again or when I find someone willing to buy my Victron Centaur 24/60A off me at a decent price :D
Whichever happens first!

cheers

V.
