Is it worth the expense of putting a pressure gauge onto the Racor

Ta, just the info I was after. Too much for a sensor I was looking at unfortunately, never mind :)

I've never found things happen so quickly that I've had to think about an alarm. Checking the guage every few hours is usually enough. I usually also check before getting in somewhere where it would be awkward for the engine revs to fall (e.g. shipping channel, marina with strong tides or wind, etc).

I got to 12 ins/Hg on a 100M motor. Changed the primary filter beforehand but issue turned out to be in the fuel pipes, so it was already at 8 an hour into the trip. Kept motoring in the hope I could get into a marina before having to sort it out but with ten miles to go it was 10 and finally conked out with a couple of miles left. Had to sail in and motor the last 100yds from a can.

In my case it would be so much easier (plus cheaper) to fit an electronic sensor, after that alarms, save data , whatever you feel like doing is easy with existing electronics.
Unfortunately to original sensor is surface mount which is way beyond my meager soldering skills, another one I found was only good for a very small differential pressure so not much use either :(
