Is it safe to remove an then insert impeller again?

Hi,
I need to recommision my water pump. I just changed impeller. I need to remove it but as I just change it, I would like to keep using it. Is it safe to remove, providing I will remove it very carefully?

Remove mine at the end of every sailing season & put it back at the start. No issues found so far provided I check the impellor for any wear prior to re fitting- Which one really ought to do as a maintenance item anyway.

Check the root of each blade for cracking and if ok go for it

Yes. As long as you are careful extracting it, check it over before you insert it.

Refit the impeller keeping the same direction of rotation when possible. It's not the end of the world if changed, but the vanes do take on a 'set'.

I changed my impeller every year initially because I thought that I had to. THEN I read the service manual and it said every two years…

Luckily, I still have a large number of ‘used’ impellers that look like new and will (maybe) be used in due course!!!
