There are more and more paddle boarders and camoflarged kayaks fishing in the Solent it's becoming increasing difficult to find clear areas to open up.

Paddle boarders / kayaks can be obscured behind other craft and it concerns me that one may get washed up with go pro strap on showing my stern on it.

What's the answer , reduce to 8 knots until 5nm offshore ?

Crikey, matey. You're back. And worrying yourself unduly about getting some strap-on action in the Solent. :D

I wouldn't worry about that, Go-Pros have wide angle lenses so by the time your wash swamps them you'll be so far away the camera won't be able to make you out. A fast MoBo has usually travelled 1/4 mile before it's wash hits a small boat passed at about 100yds abeam.

Still be nice to avoid the incident :encouragement:

+1 Welcome back Daka! Can't say I've noticed hundreds of sup's etc in the Solent, although I've only boated once there this year. Maybe I need to go to specsavers.
I've started to wear specs, it's surprising what I can see now, the kayaks are camouflage colour and fishermen in camouflage gear , there are loads getting about , paddle boards take some spotting too, you spot the white splash from the paddle first.
