.. for a motorsailor to be a classic? I've got an elderly friend with an equally elserly motorsailor which he refers to as a classic but really its an old GRP thingie with a BMC engine, Its got a mast, in fact it used to have two, but the wee one at the back was too much hasssle so he cut it down. And whilst he evidently gets a lot of enjoyment pottering about sorting bits that fall off and watering plants on the patio, in the conservatory and growing mushrooms in the cellar, surely Claymore is not a classic?

Classic motorsailers

How about:

- Fairey Fisherman
- Atlantic Ketch (all right, it's nearly an out and out sailing boat)
- John Bain designs (with particular reference to ccscott's "Englander")
- Maurice Griffith's "Mongoose"

Must be loads of others. No further questions, M'Lud.

PS: Dunno whether or not Claymore is a classic but, from reading the postings, her owner plainly adds a certain amount of vintage credibility to the ensemble.
