No Claymore, its not just you!

EWach time I've logged on to the 'virtual pub / yacht club' recentlyI've been dismayed by the number of posts griping about life / the system etc. If this really were a pub / club I'm sure I'd finish my pint and move on before I needed therapy!

Most of the forumites have got enough resource to participate in a sport / hobby that is, despite all claims to the contrary, well beyond the means of the majority in this country. On this basis alone I can't really see that life - or the system - is dealing such a duff hand as to warrant all the moaning... why not just smell the roses and enjoy? (Head down now!!!)

It's the S.A.D. syndrome ( or does the "S" already cover that ?)

How many weeks up there before you see daylight again?

John.

Claymore

Its you. Life has never been better. Boat tucked up for the next 3 months. Gutters to clean. Garden to tidy. New kitchen being planned for the new year. Christmas next week. Carol concert on sunday. Its nice and frosty and sharp up here at the moment. Read in The Times today that with global warming we have had the warmest summers in the last ten years since records began. 2005 is going to be even hotter. Sheena has got me a big surprise for Xmas - just hope I can sell Rebel soon enough (I wish). Lots of non-boaty friends to meet. Will even see some of my family (non-boaty ones over Xmas)... and on... and on...and on... and still at the back of my mind I stop and think of the good sails of last season and what the new season will bring.

Cheer up.

Seasons Greetings.

Donald

Was amused to read that both Jamesie an mesen are mentioned as new members of CA in their latest rag, thus entitling us both to wear a heavily defaced blue ensign.

Now I'm happy to fly the red duster, but will be watching GR closely. As you know, the wee mannie has a streak of vanity which worries me. I'm thinking of ordering a bluey 'just in case'.

The question I have, is if we are both on starboard with blue ensigns a-fly and neither boat is windward, who gives way?

My feelings are that I'm the senior (Jimi being just short of his half century) and I did my intiial RYA training in the previous century.

Would I be correct in raising my scotch and calling for water?

The words 'miserable' 'old' and 'git' could be permutated in any order.
Hoiwever, sorry to hear about that new kitchen...
Anyway with global warming have ordered a new bimini. Are there many shops in Largs where one can buy a thong?

CLAYMORE..YES IT\'S YOU

No doubt the world is not perfect but if you are on this forum chances are you own a boat and that means you can disappear off anywhere whenever you wish. I'm off with my mate in the morning down to the Walton Backwaters to check our boats are OK and to have a few jars on Saturday night. Once down there we have not got a care in the world....until we return to reality later on Sunday. I always think that when I am on my boat that Heaven cannot be better than this. Paul

<hr width=100% size=1>there is nothing-absolutely nothing-half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
