Just hobbled in to see the manager who was aware. I told him I would be staying until Sunday or Monday as my leg made me in no fit state to sail. He suggested I come in to pay the bill on Saturday as there was no one to take my money on Sunday.
Whilst I cannot bear the whole culture of compensation, etc, if this was the UK and the marina were giving me the sort of short shrift they appear to be giving you, then I'd get onto a decent lawyer.
But, as its France and you don't know your way around their system, AND if there's no obvious risk of injury complications, then I'd just put it down to experience (DON't ever jump onto pontoons). Just take the usual photos and details of any witnesses just in case, and press on when you're ready.
You could BTW always name and shame the marina - as a warning to others to take their business elsewhere......
