Is cutter rig worth it?

people suggesting that a furling genoa needs to set badly when part reefed.

I don't think anyone has said they "need" to set badly, just that they often do which isn't the same thing at all.

Anyway, as also said above a genny with big overlap probably won't benefit from a stays'l and a yankee (which may well do) probably doesn't need to be rolled up so often or as much.

You are absolutely correct-that is our experience since we changed to a high cut Yankee.
