I read an article some years ago in PBO I think, which explained in some detail the movement north in the warmer current of barnacle spours ? which arrive on these shores, UK, around April and the theory was that if you did not launch until May(ish) the young had found a home and started to grow on something that was in water when they arrived, sounds reasonable to me, Turtles do it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
