Is a faxed document any different to a scanned one?

Why take that attitude. All I said was that a fax can be tampered with or spoofed just as easily with a machine.

If more organisations made PGP public keys available then a lot of this nonsense would go away.

Do you have an iPhone or iPad?

I use an excellent little app called 'Turboscan':

Sorry, I should have made it clear I was referring to a fax sent by and received by a good old fashioned standalone fax machine

But if you don't trust the other person not to forge the documents they're sending you, why would you trust them when they tell you what kind of machine they're using?
