Iridium messaging

A mate has given me his Iridium Go number & email address. I cannot work out how to send him a message. Both txt and email messages failed. Any clues would be gratefully received.

Iridium messaging, in our experience, was always a bit hit and miss. Some messages got through, but rarely did we get a response. Voice calls were fine, as were data downloads of grib files.
