Can anyone please recommend a good ISP thro' which I can send / receive email on my iridium sat-phone? I have a motorola 9500 with datakit and need an ISP that filters out attachments, pictures, spam etc. Ideally I'd like to be able to use Outlook express rather than a web-based email such as hotmail but that's not essential.

Thanks

Gerard

most of them will allow filtering, but what you need is one that will filter before download to minimise your download times. Dont know the answer cause I havent researched this area yet, so very interested in the responses.

You could try onspeed.com
It costs £25 but it's server compress your requested data before sending it down to your connection.
It compresses text and images and will probably help a lot over satellite
It will not help with spam though. changing mail accounts regularly or using isps that filter mail for you will help there.

We used our hotmail address through outlook express using the Appollo software from iridium when at sea in the caribbean, took laptop to cafes for the rest of the time. No isp charges, but a bit slow. Worked for us for six months.
