Sorry if this is a repeat of someone's earlier posting, but what is the current situation with Eire? Anybody know of any restrictions that affect yachts and yachties? (Apart from the number of pints of Guiness permissible!)

Thanks.

I returned last week from my second visit to Ireland since fmd. The restrictions are still in place. Warnings are transmitted on VHF and Navtex daily. However they are not rigorous. 'Foreign' boats are supposed to visit HM. Crew must stay on board. 'Foreign' waste must be disposed of via the HM.
Your are not supposed to bring in meat or dairy products. However the most visible sign seems to be that most roads from harbours are provided with disinfectant mats.

Out of the dozen or so harbours visited, only Malahide marina asked us were they the first port of call in Ireland

Roy_ryder's response is correct. Lots of official noise but lacks something in the application. Navtex even gives you a speech to read to your crew ( over the Tannoy(sic))
