I'm heading of for cork week ion the new boat this year and need to get it rated. I've started to fill the form in which is no mean feat but still have loads of measurements to make. The form entry form needs to be sent of this week however and I'm not going to have my IRC form finished in time. The Cork form asks me what I expect my TCC to be (anticipated). I don't have a clue and wonder if anybody could give me a guess to put on the form at this stage.

Boat is Bavaria 40 Ocean with in mast furling sails.

Thanks in advance

Alistair

Assuming you have a spinnaker it will probably be in the range 1.000 to 1.050 but most likely around 1.030.

I think Cork Week have a requirement for the ticket to be endorsed. No doubt Cork Week will confirm. The procedure is quite simple an extra £ 20.00 to the rating office and they will confirm what details they need to be measured (usually overhangs and sails, occasionally displacement) see www.rorcrating.com

You are correct. Cork does require an endoresed cert

...that means lifting the boat out, removing everything that's removable, weighing it, measuring the sails etc.

This year FCW have replaced the old ECHO classes with a "Gentleman's racing" class - which does NOT require an endorsed certificate. Given he's got in mast furling I imagine this is what he's intending to enter

This initial query should surely have been to Yachting World web site, not Monthly.
kdf reply is incorrect. Endorsement may or may not involve physical measurement checks.
