Ips v legs v shafts

well the virtesse was really the boat i wanted next ,but but the cost of servicing is scary also the thought of all electronic which from what i gather only volvo engineers can work on them at god knows what per hour ,it frightening ,if ips is such a fraction of sales and legs should be sub 40ft how do they expect to sell a lot

Ah Azipod, that rings a bell.

I didn't know that windy had a boat on PODs, is that a new boat do you know?
It was delivered last September just before SIBS, where it was on display. This was his upgrade from his prior Princess V42. I think the Windy is 43', but I can't recall the precise model. Now moored at Mercury on B Trot somewhere.

OK I should have read the rest of the threads before responding.

The boat in the MBY test is my pal's.

Legs are fine > 40' but the vectoring and joystick control will become less graceful the longer/heavier the boat.
Service costs will be dwarfed by depreciation on that or any < 3 year old boat so I wouldn't be distracted, negotiate an extra 15k off the price to cover the next 5 years of servicing and enjoy a really fast, smart and usable boat :)
