IPS Corrosion

Available on petrol engines in the USA as the "ocean series", but not able to handle the same sort of torque as an aluminium DP-H, hence less useful for diesels, so we get the normal dissolving in salt water type.

It's a love hate thing. I love the way they drive, the speed, the economy. I just need reminding of that when I'm standing in a freezing puddle in February with antifouled hair.

Is this a Rodman by any chance? I have heard of another boat just hauled out and the same problem. Rumour has it that is not the first Rodman with these IPS problems.

I really dont know, certainly it looks like there is a corrosion problem, but I wonder if party a cavitation problem too, I think there is maybe still a bit to learn about IPS, I think lots more to it than modifying a outdrive and moving it...how in depth has the research been into the water flow etc I wonder.
