Sorry for repeated but edited post but I was blocked from editing my original un edited post!
I know its been raised before and I have contacted the publishers my self on this, but...
The news sites are so slow using Internet Explore 6. I have turned the privacy OFF and its made little difference. I use a fire wall and again disabling it has no effect. Now at work we are using IE6 I find the same the same, one of the slowest sites I use (and its a large part of my job). Without determination I would give up, sites that are slow at loading like this we move on from at work and don’t bother.
How do I know its IE6, well this is being written through Opera which loads the site through the same fire wall in less than 1/3d the time as IE with privacy off and until IE6 was installed at work IE5.5 loaded it much faster.
It would be helpfull if the designers of the site could give some guidance as to settings to tweak in IE and popular fire walls to help. They should know if any one is to !
What has been done I have no idea but all I do know is with privacy on IE on any level the number of reported blockages is more than I have seen on almost any other site. WHY?
